When repairs stop making sense, a new roof protects everything under it. CGJ Roofing & Construction tears off your old roof down to the decking and installs a complete new roof system to the manufacturer’s specifications, then cleans up every day until the job is done.

Warning Signs
Not every old roof needs replacing, and not every damaged roof is a lost cause. These are the signs that usually point toward replacement.
Bruised, cracked or missing shingles across several slopes, not just one spot.
Bare, shiny patches on shingles, or a lot of granules collecting in your gutters.
Years of Texas heat dry shingles out until they stop lying flat.
You've repaired the same area more than once and it keeps coming back.
A wavy roofline or soft spots underfoot can mean water has damaged the wood below.
Your roof is nearing the end of its expected life and is showing several of the signs above.
Seeing only one or two of these? A repair may be all you need. Our free roof inspection will tell you which.
Our Process
01
We inspect the roof, attic ventilation, flashing and gutters, and photograph everything we find.
02
A clear scope of work covering materials, color, ventilation, flashing and decking, with the price spelled out before anything starts.
03
We help you compare shingle types and colors, including Class 4 impact-resistant shingles and metal.
04
We protect landscaping, AC units and driveways before tear-off begins.
05
The old roof comes off down to the decking so we can inspect the wood and replace damaged sections.
06
Underlayment, drip edge, starter strip, shingles, flashing, pipe boots, ridge cap and ventilation, installed to manufacturer specs.
07
We clear debris every day and run a magnetic nail sweep of your yard, beds and driveway.
08
We walk the finished roof with you and answer any questions.
What's Included
A roof is a system. Underlayment, flashing, drip edge, ventilation and the decking underneath all work together to keep water out, so every CGJ roof replacement covers the whole system.
Before we quote a replacement, we inspect your roof and show you photos of what we find. If a repair will give you more good years, we'll tell you that instead.
Storm Damage
In North Texas, many replacements start with a storm. If hail or wind damaged your roof, your homeowner's insurance may cover the replacement, minus your deductible. We document the damage with photos and can meet your adjuster at your home.
Texas law doesn't allow a contractor to waive, absorb or rebate your insurance deductible. If a roofer offers to, that's a red flag.

How long does a roof replacement take?
It depends on the size and pitch of the roof, the weather, and whether any decking needs replacing. Your written estimate includes an expected timeline, and we'll keep you posted if weather changes the schedule.
Do I need to be home during the replacement?
No. We'll walk through the plan with you beforehand and the finished roof with you afterward. Expect noise during tear-off, and keep pets and vehicles clear of the work areas.
Can you install a new roof over my old one?
We do full tear-offs. Removing the old roof lets us inspect and repair the decking and install the new system to manufacturer specs.
Will insurance pay for my new roof?
If the roof was damaged by a covered event such as hail or wind, your policy may cover replacement minus your deductible. Coverage depends on your policy. We'll document the damage and can meet your adjuster, but the claim decision is your insurance company's.
How much does a roof replacement cost in DFW?
It depends on roof size, pitch, materials, the number of layers to remove and the condition of the decking. We give you a written estimate after a free inspection so you know the real number, not a guess.
Will you clean up nails and debris?
Yes. We clean up every day and run a magnetic nail sweep of your yard and driveway.
